Apprentice of the Year Award 2022 - Callum Staff and Lewis Giddings are joint winners!

Date: November 20, 2022

It was a rather glamour evening at the #historicmotoringawards in association with #OctaneMagazine in London last week. A star-studded audience witnessed not one, but two winners of the Apprentice of the Year Award being awarded their trophies with a cheque for £1,000 each.

During his three years with Woolmer Classic Engineering, Lewis Giddings, 21, has regularly scored class-topping results at college. He single-handedly built a Volvo Amazon endurance rally car for a customer to enter on the Lima to Cape Horn Rally.

Callum Staff, 23, joined pre-war Aston specialist Ecurie Bertelli three years ago and is close to qualifying at the Heritage Skills Academy. He volunteers for the StarterMotor charity and drove its 1903 Oldsmobile in last year's London to Brighton run.

Congratulations to both and to those runners up:

Ellie Gentry - Gentry Restorations

Jack Langley - Richards of England

James Small - Bristol Classic Car Restoration

Kieron Coleman

Max Houghton - Somerford Mini

Tomasz Mika - Fiennes Classics

William Foster - Moss Jaguar

Also picking up the award for Personal Achievement was Federation Skills Trust's Francis Galashan for his decade of work in helping these apprenticeships get off-the-ground.
